Exploring Ormond Beach
As the “Birthplace of Speed” in 1903, Ormond Beach was the first place in America where races took place along the hard-packed sands of its beaches.
While the racing spotlight eventually shifted south to Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach has cornered the market on public lands with ancient hammocks, archaeological sites, and outstanding scenery.
You can drive or bike through them on The Loop, a scenic corridor of canopied and winding roads along the edges of the estuary where the Tomoka and Halifax rivers meet.
